Credits and billing
What uses credits, what's free, the plans, running low, top-ups and payment.
Meerkats is priced on what your agents use, not on seats or features. Every plan includes every connector, every feature and unlimited teammates. You pick a monthly amount, it comes back as credits, and your agents spend the credits as they work. When you need more, you top up.
Your balance, usage and plan are under Billing in your account menu. The page is titled Plans & credits. Billing is per account, and credits are spent across all your workspaces.
What uses credits#

A monitor that checks one workspace every hour uses 24 runs a day, about 720 a month. A question you ask the chat agent uses about three calls. An approved budget change uses one. A sync uses none.

Larger amounts come with more credits per dollar, fresher data, and faster support. Pro adds white-label (your name and domain on apps you build) and single sign-on. Everything else is the same on every plan.
Refresh rate and rules
A rule can only check as often as its data refreshes. On the Free plan, an hourly rule sees the same numbers 24 times. Pick the plan whose refresh matches how fast you need to react.Estimate what you need#
Three questions decide it:
- How many workspaces, and how often each is checked. Checks a day × workspaces × 30 = runs a month.
- How many questions your team asks agents in a day. Questions × 3 × 30 = calls a month.
- How many changes you approve. Usually small next to the first two.

Running low and running out#
- Meerkats emails you when your credits are running low.
- If credits run out mid-task, the work in progress finishes, up to 10% of your monthly credits, so a check never stops halfway through a change.
- After that, new runs pause until you top up or your credits refresh. Syncing continues; nothing you built is lost.
- You are never charged after the fact. Usage is prepaid.
Top-ups#
On any paid plan, top up at $10 per 1,000 credits from Plans & credits. Top-up credits never expire and are used after your monthly credits. If you top up every month, moving to the next plan is usually cheaper.
Monthly refresh#
Monthly credits refresh on your billing date and don’t roll over. Top-up credits do. Changing plan takes effect immediately; the new monthly credits replace the old from that day, prorated.

Payment#
- No card is needed to start. The Free plan includes 500 credits a month.
- Paid plans and top-ups are charged by card through Stripe, in US dollars.
- Invoices are in Subscription History. Add a billing address and tax ID under Manage plan to have them on invoices.
- Cancel anytime from Manage plan. Your plan runs to the end of the billing period, then drops to Free; your data and workspaces stay.
Troubleshooting#
Credits went faster than I expected
Check Agents run history: a monitor on a five-minute cadence uses 288 runs a day. Lengthen the cadence, or pause agents you don’t need.
Runs paused
Your balance is zero. Top up on Plans & credits or wait for the monthly refresh. Syncs continue in the meantime.
I can't top up
Top-ups are on paid plans. Upgrade first.
Do model costs come on top?
No, for agents that run inside Meerkats. If you bring your own Claude or ChatGPT over MCP, your subscription to them is separate; Meerkats counts only the calls they make to it.
